Check-up
One hour, and you know what puts you at risk.
We look at how you hold your crypto today and tell you plainly what is fine and what needs fixing. No seed, no addresses, no amounts. If everything is fine, we say so and that's the end of it.
You pay nothing when you sign up. Payment comes after we agree a date.
Why we start with a call
The worst thing you can do with crypto is "fix" your security without knowing what's wrong. Moving funds to a new wallet with an untested seed backup swaps one risk for another.
So we start with a conversation. An hour is enough to see the layout: where the copies are, who has access and whether anyone but you knows what to do if something happens. Only on that basis does it make sense to price anything more.
What the hour looks like
- 1
Questions
Where you keep your crypto, since when, who knows about it, and what would happen if your phone or the sheet with your words were lost. You talk, we listen.
- 2
Review
We look at your setup without seeing your seed or the screen with your keys. We care about the layout: how many copies, in how many places, who has access.
- 3
List of risks
You get it during the call, one item at a time, most urgent first. For each point: what to do and whether you need us for it.
- 4
Decision
If you want to go further, we price the setup and the family instructions. If not, you keep the list and do it yourself.
A sample list of risks
Below is a generic, anonymised example of what usually ends up on the list. It isn't your list: we build each one from scratch after the call, most urgent item first.
- 1
A single copy of the seed
One sheet of paper in a drawer is one fire or one house move away from losing access. Fix: a second copy, ideally on steel, kept somewhere else.
- 2
The seed as a photo or a phone note
A photo goes to the cloud, and from the cloud to other people's hands. Fix: delete the photo, copy the words onto paper or steel, and if anyone could have seen them, move the funds to a new wallet.
- 3
A backup nobody has tested
Nobody knows whether the words are in the right order or whether the wallet can be rebuilt from them. Fix: a recovery test before you deposit more.
- 4
Nobody but you knows about the crypto
When you're gone, your family won't know what to look for. Fix: instructions for your family and one trusted person who knows where they are.
- 5
Everything in one drawer
The hardware wallet, the sheet with the seed and the instructions sit together, so whoever opens the drawer has everything. Fix: split the keys, for example in a 2-of-3 wallet.
What to prepare for the call
- Where you keep crypto today: an exchange, a hardware wallet, a phone app
- How many backups you have and where they are (you don't need to show the words)
- Whether you have ever checked that you can recover access from a backup
- Who in your family knows you hold crypto, and what they could do with that knowledge
What you get
- an assessment of how you hold your crypto today
- a list of risks to fix, most urgent first
- a clear answer on whether you need anything more at all
Payment by bank transfer once we agree a date. If you feel the call gave you nothing, you don't pay.
How the call can end
Everything is fine
We say so and stop. You pay for the hour and we don't pitch you anything else.
A few fixes
You get the list and do the fixes yourself, at your own pace. If an item needs help, we tell you which one and how much work it means.
A bigger change
For example moving from an exchange to your own wallet, or from one key to a 2-of-3 setup. We price the setup and the family instructions after the call, and the decision stays with you.
Who it's for
This is for you if
- you hold crypto on your own wallet or want to move it there from an exchange
- you have one copy of your seed and don't know if it will work
- nobody but you knows where the access is
Not for you if
- you want someone to tell you what to buy and when to sell
- you set up multisig yourself and read your wallet's code
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your seed or addresses and we don't look at the screen with your keys
- We don't store any keys and have no access to your funds
- We don't advise what to buy or when to sell
- We don't give tax or legal advice
- We don't push further services: if your setup is fine, we say so and stop

Questions about the check-up
Do I have to show how much crypto I have?
No. Amounts and addresses stay with you. We ask about the layout: how many copies, in how many places, who has access.
Is the check-up online?
Yes, by video call. Where your keys are concerned, we don't see your screen anyway.
What if I don't want to go further after the call?
You keep the list of risks and do it yourself. We don't call and we don't chase you.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer once we agree a date. The price is indicative. For our first clients we confirm it before the call.
Do I need a hardware wallet already?
No. You may still be on an exchange and thinking about moving to your own wallet. The check-up then shows you where to start.
What do I get after the call?
A list of risks, most urgent first, with a suggested fix for each item. We build it during the call, so you don't wait for a separate report.
