Setup
A 2-of-3 wallet, set up together. The keys stay with you.
We choose the hardware, walk you through the setup and finish by checking that you can recover access. You enter the seeds yourself, on your own hardware, and we don't look at your screen. The whole thing takes 2–3 hours in one or two sessions.
We price the setup after the check-up. You pay nothing when you sign up.
What the setup looks like
- 1
Choosing hardware
We point you to hardware wallets (for example Trezor or BitBox) and steel plates for the seed. You buy them yourself, straight from the maker, so the hardware never passes through our hands.
- 2
A 2-of-3 wallet
We set up a multisig wallet in open-source software, for example Sparrow or Nunchuk. There are three keys, and any two can send funds.
- 3
Seeds
You enter the seeds yourself, on your own hardware. We don't look at your screen for this step. Then you put the words on the steel plates.
- 4
Recovery test
Before you deposit a larger amount, we check that the wallet can be rebuilt from the backups. You do it, we watch and fix anything that doesn't work.
- 5
Placing the keys
We decide where each of the three keys goes, so that one fire, one theft or one loss doesn't end the story.
Hardware and software
We tell you what to buy. You do the buying, from the maker, so nobody but you has access to the devices.
- Hardware wallets, for example Trezor or BitBox
- Steel plates for the seed backups, resistant to fire and flooding
- Open-source multisig software, for example Sparrow or Nunchuk

Questions about the setup
Do I need to own the hardware already?
No. After the check-up we tell you what to buy and you order it from the maker. We start the setup once the hardware arrives.
What do I do myself, and what do you do?
We choose the hardware, walk you through the steps and check the result. You buy the hardware, enter the seeds and run the recovery test. The keys never leave your hands.
What happens after the setup?
You have a working wallet and a recovery test behind you. From there you can order the family instructions and, if you want, Care: a yearly test and help when something breaks.
